Rhodia was established in Ecuador in 1983 as Rhône-Poulenc Ecuador. In year 2000 the name was changed to Rhodia Ecuador. Since 1983, Rhodia has maintained a commercial presence in the country, with an office in the city of Guayaquil dedicated to selling Rhodia products to Ecuadorian industry. Rhodia Ecuador maintains a leader position in the solvents’ market with ethyl acetate as well as vanillin, filter tow, silica and surfactants for polymerization.

Rhodia Ecuador is part of the Andean Pact Zone.
