Instituto Rhodia

Instituto Rhodia

Rhodia launched Instituto Rhodia in 2007 to co-ordinate social responsibility initiatives. The Rhodia Institute actively encourages 12 to 24 year-olds from lower-income groups to become more conscious of their roles as citizens.

Alquimia Jovem Project

Our Young Alchemy project helps low-income young people from 14 - 17 years old. In Barão Geraldo/Campinas and Paulínia, teenagers are guided and monitored by educators and physical education teachers at Rhodia’s club, where sports activities such as volleyball, basketball, handball, swimming and soccer are taught, along with general education and citizenship. Young people will participate in the project for two years.

Other community activities

Other community activities include: visits by local people to the company’s sites where they learn about the operational process of the company; World Environmental Day, focused on students, teachers and principals of the schools in the cities where Rhodia has a presence, which aims to make the community aware of the importance of preserving the environment.

Rhodia's environment newsletter – Ambiente Rhodia – is sent to members of communities near the company’s industrial sites; and Jornal, Escola e Comunidade (Journal, School and Community), in partnership with A Tribuna newspaper. This initiative, focused on public and private students from Baixada Santista, takes Rhodia’s day-to-day activities into the classroom.
