Emilie, Product Manager, Rhodia Novecare

What does your job involve?

I am in charge of managing "surfactant" product lines for the cosmetics, detergents and agrochemicals markets. I coordinate the creation of new products, and I propose and implement measures to streamline product ranges. In contact with the markets, production and purchasing, I develop the production cost models required to fix prices.

Why did you choose Rhodia?

It's a leading company in specialty chemical products. The job I have currently fits my expectations perfectly. Rhodia is also an international Group offering numerous opportunities to work abroad.

Can you describe your career path?

I have dual training as a process engineer from the UTC and a specialist masters from ESCP Europe in marketing and communication. I was hired directly after I got my masters degree and following an end-of-study internship with Total.

What do you enjoy most in your job on a day-to-day basis?

My job allows me to make the most of my dual training as I am working at the interface between the production plants and the business and marketing teams. I really appreciate this because it allows me to interact with various business lines and get involved in both commercial and technical issues. This job also allows me to work in an international context as I work with our European facilities in the United Kingdom and Italy.
