Rhodiasolv® IRIS is an innovative oxygenated solvent with excellent eco-friendly properties, designed for various applications such as industrial cleaning, resin clean-up, foundry resins, paint stripping (Rhodiasolv® STRIP) , paints and coatings formulations.
This innovative solvent is non toxic, readily biodegradable, non flammable and a non VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) solvent in relation to EU legislation (1999/13/EC) and US legislation (CARB/ EPA 40FR 59.203(f)1).

• Safe to use
The product has a high flash point of 98°C and high boiling point (222-224°C), which make it non flammable and allow use over a varied temperature scale. Rhodiasolv® IRIS is easily manipulated, due to its non-toxic and non-irritant properties.
Rhodia has developed this oxygenated solvent to be low VOC according to EU directive 1999/13/EC; US legislation (CARB/ EPA 40FR 59.203(f)1) which confers on the product an excellent environmental profile.
• An “Eco-friendly” solvent
Rhodiasolv® IRIS is readily biodegradable and non flammable and non toxic. This makes it a viable alternative to solvents such as methylene chloride or NMP (N-Methylpyrrolidone).
• A powerful solution
It also has high solvency power, and effective solubilization for a wide range of resin, oil, greases and paints. This makes Rhodiasolv® IRIS a powerful new alternative to existing solvent for applications such as resin clean-up, graffiti removal and paint stripping.
• A cost efficient solvent
Rhodiasolv® IRIS evaporates at a much lower rate than solvents such as acetone. The formulator will need to use less Rhodiasolv® IRIS for similar applications. The usage rate, together with lower flammability, makes Rhodiasolv® IRIS a cost efficient alternative.
• A registered solvent in many countries
Rhodiasolv® IRIS is registered in Europe, USA, Australia, South Korea and Japan. This registration allows Rhodia to produce and license the solvent in those countries.
