Lyon, FRANCE–April 2, 2012– Rhodia Polyamide & Intermediates (P&I), a member of the Solvay group, has developed an extended range of novel intermediates exploiting upstream C6 chemistry know-how in the polyamide 6.6 manufacturing chain.
As a direct result of the infinite range of intermediates derived and the vast array of potential end-use market applications, Rhodia is introducing new trademarks and logos for the company’s flagship polymer intermediates and derivatives:
Rhodiacid™ and Rhodiamine™,a comprehensive range of respectively diacids and amines. These brands will henceforth be used on all commercial and product documentation and packaging worldwide.
“Our R&D and commercial teams fully collaborated to research and exploit the potential end-use applications where our existing, and these new intermediates, find a fit,” said Yannick Adnot, Intermediates Market Director. “Valorising our products in the manufacturing chain highlights Rhodia’s dedicated commitment to sustainability and the lowering of CO2 emissions. It also enables us to develop and offer new innovative solutions thereby anticipating customers’ growing demand for increased performance and efficiency,” he added.
The palette of both AA and HMD intermediates is very large and diverse such as AGS, Dioro, DBA, Amine in Solution, DCH and BHT - all proposed with a wide range of different grades.
End-use market applications are also extremely broad and include paint, coatings and inks, adhesives, surface treatment, aeronautics, marine and wind energy, agrochemical formulations, water treatment, paper industry, leather treatment, asphalt and bitumen in road construction, etc.
