RHODIA AT COLOMBIATEX – HALL CENTRAL - STAND 150-152
Santo André, January 24, 2012 – Rhodia, a member of the Solvay group, is to take part for the ninth time in a row in Colombiatex de Las Americas, (from January 24 to 26, 2012, in Medellín, Colombia) showcasing its sustainable innovations in textiles, which are part of a large portfolio of polyamide 666 yarns and fibers.
The only company in the region with an integrated production chain in the polyamide area, Rhodia is betting on the market in the northern region of South America to expand its commercial presence in the textile area on the continent, supplying textile products that improve consumers’ quality of life.
Innovations– Among these differentiated products, the standout from Rhodia at Colombiatex will be Emana®, the only polyamide 66 textile yarn in the world that can be used in making clothes that help combat the signs of cellulite and reduce muscular fatigue.
The product of four years of development in Rhodia’s research centers, Emana® incorporates bioactive mineral crystals in its polymeric makeup, making it possible to produce clothes that promote a high level of interaction between the fabric and skin, improving blood microcirculation and cellular metabolism.
The product is recommended for every kind of clothing (lingerie, shapewear, sportswear, fashion, and others) that seeks to promote health and wellbeing in the user. Clothes made from Emana®feature a versatile range of colors, do not lose their functionality when washed (permanent effect) and, like any conventional polyamide 66, are easily washed and kept..
A wide range of products made from Emana® is now available to consumers in several countries, through international brands such as DIM, Liebaert, Sigvaris, Fulgar, Asics, Lupo, Trifil, Track&Field, TDB, Rosset, and Savyon, among others.
“Many of these products, which are being sold at hundreds of points of sale in different continents, can be seen in complete collections for internationally recognized brands and at the fashion shows held at Colombiatex by Brazilian companies, the country where Emana® was launched initially,” says Elizabeth Haidar, marketing manager at Rhodia Fibras, a global business unit of Rhodia’s. Pieces from every segment the product is used in will be presented.
Emana® is gradually achieving a global reach, having been launched internationally at the recent ITMA 2011, in Barcelona. Rhodia is also beginning a partnership with Fulgar, a major textile player in Europe, to expand the market for this product.
Amni® Ecoblack – Another innovation that has just left Rhodia’s textile laboratories is Amni® Ecoblack, a differentiated polyamide 66 microfiber that allows the creation of fabrics with textures, prints and effects that reflect the most modern trends in fashion. “Amni® Ecoblack answers consumer demand for sustainable products, focused on natural resources, but at the same time matching modern urban life,” explains Elizabeth Haidar.
In the development phase with Rhodia clients, a sample of the potential this new microfiber has can be seen in the look especially produced for Colombiatex 2012 by Walério Araújo, one of the most famous Brazilian designers, a graduate of the famous Casa dos Criadores.
Over the three days of the event, twice a day there will be fashion shows featuring clothes made from Rhodia’s textile yarns, microfibers and supermicrofibers. “We will be showing that all the products made from Rhodia’s textile yarns and fibers offer a range of benefits, mainly a unique feeling of comfort, thanks to the gentle touch of polyamide 66,”adds Elizabeth Haidar.
