São Paulo, May 29, 2012 - Rhodia, a member of Solvay group, is launching Rheomer 33®, an innovative rheological agent for personal cleansing solutions, in the Latin American market.
Rheomer 33® is a new polymer specifically designed to promote efficient thickening and good suspension properties) in transparent (clear) formulations that have low or medium concentrations of surfactants (6% to 13%). Rheomer 33 also boosts foaming performance and provides a soft feel to the skin. This unique combination of properties allows formulators to create innovative products such as crystal clear shower gels with suspended capsules, pearlescent shampoos and facial scrubs with exfoliating beads.
With Rheomer 33®’s, at FCE Cosmetique 2012 (May 29-31, in São Paulo, Brazil), Rhodia has broadens its innovative portfolio of specialty ingredients used in formulating personal care products.
Rhodia’s high performance liquid surfactants: Mackam BC-39, prepared with cocamide MEA, and Mackam BP-40, prepared with cocamide MIPA are used in high performance shampoos, liquid hand soaps and body cleansers and meet the needs of manufacturers seeking easier and safer handling of raw materials and faster and efficient processing of consumer products.
Miracare ® SLB, Rhodia’s structured surfactant liquid system used in the formulation of liquid cleansing products is well known to deliver breakthrough foam, texture, moisturization and conditioning performance. It has now been proven that Miracare ® SLB based formulations have enhanced fragrance intensity and persistence compared to traditional formulations.
Rhodia’s portfolio of personal care solutions also includes a product developed from a rice protein, compatible with different types of surfactants (anionic, cationic and nonionic). Marketed under the brand MackproPlus Rice-C ®, it contains 2% cysteine, and is perfect for the treatment of hair that has been damaged by dyes or straightening. It also provides excellent moisturizing and film forming properties, which enhance shine, improve combability and leave hair full-bodied.

Scheduled in advance, hair treatments can be done by the Marcos Proença team of professionals at the salon using products formulated using the solutions offered to the market by Rhodia.

Differentiated fragrances - During FCE 2012, Rhodia will officially launch the Rhovea™ brand on the Brazilian market – a new, pioneering and versatile line of personalized products with the characteristic scent of vanilla, exclusively for non-food purposes, such as fine and industrial perfumes, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
Also in the line of differentiated fragrances, the company offers the market Rhodiantal™, a product with a characteristic note of sandalwood which ensures a long-lasting effect, being a perfect alternative to natural sandalwood oils. With a high concentration of sandalwood, the product (IBCH - isobornyl cyclohexanol) is recommended for applications in perfumes, soaps, washing powder and softeners, shampoos, conditioners and incense.
