Karel, Process Engineer, R&D Asia Pacific region

Tell us about your main assignments.
My top responsibility is to manage a team of junior process engineers at the Research and Technology Center in Shanghai. We are part of Rhodia's central R&D organisation. As such, we support all the Group's GBUs in the Asia Pacific Region.
Why did you choose Rhodia?
Because it's an international firm with major growth targets in China. Rhodia has taken over several of its former competitors. All those plants need to be integrated into the Group and brought into compliance with Rhodia's engineering and safety standards. That means there are many professional development opportunities for engineers within the Group.
Describe Rhodia's corporate culture in three words.
Entrepreneurship, cooperation, safety.
What do you like about your job?
My past experience in different types of chemical industries is put to good use in my current work at Rhodia. I also really like my assigned task of forming and running a team of chemical process engineers, working together and tackling various challenges.
