MACKALENE 117

40% active cationic surfactant produced by the neutralization of cocamidopropyl dimethylamine with propionic acid. The compound formed has excellent conditioning properties and is compatible with anionic surfactants. Mackalene 117 boosts foam in anionic systems and will provide viscosity building equivalent to alkanolamides. Mackalene 117 is also chloride-free thereby reducing the potential for corrosion in aerosol products.

MACKALENE 1216

25% active cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner in hair care products. It is derived from a pure grade of sunflower seed oil, which enhances its anionic compatibility. Mackalene® 1216 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationic conditioners in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a "matted" feel. It can be used at moderate levels (2 - 3%), in anionic surfactant based formulations without causing haze, separation or defoaming effects. It is recommended as a conditioner in clear shampoo formulations. At concentrations of as little as 3%, it will very effectively improve wet combing properties.

MACKALENE 316

Cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner for hair care products. Mackalene® 316 has an advantage over quaternaryammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a "matted" feel. Mackalene® 316 isalso compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditioner for shampoos. At low concentrations it will not depress foam and provides excellent thickening properties.

MACKALENE 326

Cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner for hair care products. Mackalene 326 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a “matted” feel. Mackalene 326 is also compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditioner in mild shampoo formulations. At an active level of 4%, Mackalene 326 is mild to the skin and eyes and will not depress foam when properly formulated.

MACKALENE 426 K

Cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner for hair care products. Mackalene 426 K has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a “matted” feel. Mackalene 426-K is also compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditioner in both clear shampoo formulations and skin cleansers. When properly formulated, it does not depress foam or lather. At an active level of 4%, Mackalene 426-K is non-irritation to the skin and eyes. This grade is preserved with Kathon® CG.

MACKALENE 426-100

High active cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner in hair care products. Mackalene 426-100 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a “matted” feel. Mackalene 426-100 is also compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditioner in clear shampoo formulations. When properly formulated, it does not depress foam or lather. At an active level of 4%, Mackalene 426-100 is non-irritating to the skin and eyes. Mackalene 426-100 does not contain any preservatives.

MACKALENE 426

Cationic surfactant that is used primarily as a conditioner for hair care products. Mackalene 426 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a “matted” feel. Mackalene 426 is also compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditioner in both clear shampoo formulations and skin cleansers. When properly formulated, it does not depress foam or lather. At an active level of 4%, Mackalene 426 is non-irritating to the skin and eyes. This grade is preserved with DMDM Hydantoin.

MACKALENE 716

Cationic surfactant derived from wheatgerm oil that is used primarily as a hair conditioner additive. Mackalene® 716 has an advantage over quaternary ammonium cationics in that it rinses more readily from the hair and thereby prevents build-up or a "matted" feel.A small amount will provide a soft "silky" feel to the product. Mackalene® 716 is also compatible with anionic surfactants and is recommended as a conditioner for clear shampoos. At low concentrations it provides excellent thickening properties, will improve wet combing and will not significantly depress foam.
