In 2008, the ICEM and Rhodia renewed their global responsibility agreement for three years, enhancing it with new commitments. in particular, the updated text allows for a committee devoted to safety issues and the integration fo the agreeement into the Rhodia Way* framework. After an initial visit to China in 2007, a second evaluation mission traveled to Brazil in 2008. The ICEM's representatives were able to meet employees and their representatives, without manages present, and assess whether the commitments made by the group are met in terms of health, safety and environment, remuneration levels, training policy, percentage of women managers, control of suppliers and subcontractors, and social dialogue. The next visit will be made to the United States at the end of 2009.
